I have many tips for waiters. There are some simple things that your current employer will teach you that they call "training". Unfortunately, this type of training will make the owner money, not necessarily you.

To make more tip money as a waiter you will need to become very confident in the basic procedures of your current establishment. After that, there are many simple, easy to learn methods that will dramatically increase your gratuities.

For example, if you a good looking, well built man you should NEVER make eye contact with a woman at your table before you make eye contact with the male she is seated next to. To ignore this and make eye contact with the female might threaten the male. If he's leaving your tip you might have just killed it before you started.

It's not a big thing, and most waiters never consider these little things. There are many little ideas like this that can kill or explode the size of the tips for waiters.

I suggest you get comfortable with the basics of being a waiter and then concentrate on learning the subtleties of customer service that can make you much more money.

Much of these tips work for whatever you do dealing with people, not just tips for waiters.
