I receive a lot of email about how to handle the problem of non tipping customers and how to handle them.

You work your butt off to please these customers. You bend over backwards, answer to their every beck and call. You make their dining experience one to remember and then "nothing". Ouch!!!!

I used to get VERY mad and put myself in a terrible mood (who doesn’t). Inevitably the rest of my shift would be a disaster as my anger and frustration grew. I know this sounds tough, but you have to learn to forget it. (I have a few other “ninja” techniques in my book).

If you let it get to you, the negativity will snowball into a "shift of no tips". If you let the non tipping customers darken your entire shift you will not make any money that day. Plain and simple!

You must move on and treat your next table even better. It’s the only way to make up the lost money.

Continue to “over deliver” for the rest of your shift or let the non tipping customers take ALL your money that day.

    One of the most important things to remember is to never run out of anything.
