Great bartenders seem to be a dying breed. Most bartenders I see these days believe all they have to do is have a beer opener and know how to make a CC and Coke. I suppose that technically that makes them a bartender. However, to become a GREAT bartender there is SO much more to learn and perfect.

Whenever a customer orders a drink it is important for that bartender to make the customer feel welcomed, at home and comfortable in just a few seconds of interaction.

There is an real ART in having someone like you instantly without spending 20 minutes talking to them. There is an ART in knowing what type of customer is ordering from you, and what the appropriate way to respond to them is. The GREAT bartenders understand human behavior.

The GREAT bartenders can turn a new customer into a regular in a matter of seconds. How many regulars do you want? Bartending is more than learning a few drink ingredients. You need a whole other set of skills to become a GREAT bartender.



It's amazing how FEW bartenders take the time to learn some simple methods that would explode their income while working the same shifts!
